Welcome
With 625 free spots in swimming classes, the Kreissportbund Düren e.V., the City of Düren, and AOK Rhld./Hamburg aim to strengthen and promote water familiarization and swimming skills among children in the Düren area. From October 18 to October 30, 2026, it’s time once again to head to the pool and jump right in! To that end, the teaching pools in Merken, Derichsweiler, Birkesdorf, Arnoldsweiler, and Goethestraße, as well as the Rurbad, will be open for free swimming lessons. We would like to take this opportunity to extend a big thank you to our project partners who are making FIT WIE EIN FISCH 2025 possible: The City of Düren and AOK Rheinland-Hamburg, which is integrating FIT WIE EIN FISCH into its “Wasserspaß mit Jolinchen” program for childcare centers. Children from Düren between the ages of 5 and 12 who cannot yet swim and would like to prepare for the Seepferdchen badge are eligible to register. A selected course will take place throughout both weeks of the fall break, Monday through Friday, at the same time and location each day. This means the course consists of 10 sessions. Each session lasts 45 minutes.
Parents cannot accompany children into the pool during the lesson. Please wait outside the facility. You may bring your child to the changing area — instructors collect the children there and bring them back after the lesson.
Teaching pools & Rurbad — choose your preferred location when registering.
